Catch UP - the long absent postings
There’s been much going on since Felix was born which is when I last posted in earnest.
Now that he’s 17 months and I’m bloggin in other areas too : twitter / your-ae.com/blog
I was reminded that I need to keep my family site updated too.
So: you all got our Chirstmas letter which pretty much detailed the wondefully exciting changes we had. Myself especially. I had a job (ABC/AHM) I didn’t have a job (Bk for AHM)I was un-employed and then I found work again (Franklin American).
I’ve been working since October and my 5-6 paycheck-less months are finally coming to fruition: I’ll actually earn what would be considered a partial paycheck this month!! and next month too. Here’s hoping I can stay in my chosen field of expertise.
Jen has some exciting news as well. She starts work on Monday (4-14-08) after completing her Master’s Degree in Pyschology.
She’s actually relieved to be finished with school even though it wasn’t what we had originally planned for. She’ll have a good job with a Government Contract agency that will save us loads on Insurance costs! One good thing about Government work: high benefits.
Felix will start DayCare full-time this up coming Monday as well. This will be great for him because he just loves interacting with other children. Now that he is old enough to begin communicating he’ll start to learn even more that he already has.
To catch up on Felix: he basically started babbling around month 3. He started in with the daa-daa and other gurggling sounds around month 6.
We were concerned that he wouldn’t begin crawling but at month 11 he started pulling himself across the floor with his arms and then suddenly began crawling. His cruising took off around month 11.5-12 and he began walking around things by holding onto them around month 12.5 this all culminated in earnest walking by month 13.
Since then he’s begun walking up and down stairs with ease (using the raillings for assistance). He loves playing on jungle gyms at parks and he really enjoys the slides.
It’s pretty amazing how quickly our Son has adapted and grown. He’s around 32 inches and 29lbs @ 17 months. He’s as tall or taller than many two year olds (I think he gets it from his daddy!).
Felix is eating well and is even (on occasion) sleeping through the night (thankfully).
We’re trying to get him to officially anunciate some word of his choosing by talking to him all the time and describing the various activities and items he’s interacting with.
Within the next couple of weeks I’ll have some video up on the site and also some more pics as I’ve been very very busy at work.
One other thing that most of you already know about: I have a bunch of wine in my basement…that’s exciting because if you would really like some I would be happy to sell it you for $80/case
That’s it in brief. I’ll keep this updated on a more regular basis from now on…I promise.
